eLearning awards shortlist includes Euclidian Benefits Basics, developed by the IRRV and Nelson Croom

Nelson Croom is delighted that Euclidian Benefits Basics has been short listed for the eLearning awards 2006.

The eLearning awards aim to recognise real excellence in the e-learning industry and are presented by e.learningage in association with The eLearning Network.

Euclidian Benefits Basics is a web-based interactive learning tool, designed as a standard national online induction programme for new entrants into Housing & Council Tax Benefit. Written by users for users, Euclidian Benefits Basics is the first web based training product within the local government benefits arena and provides comprehensive induction for new Housing Benefits staff. The programme is updated daily which is important in such a fast moving area.

Built within Nelson Croom's technical shell, Imago, Euclidian Benefits Basics requires nothing more than a browser and internet access to use the programme. Once in the programme navigation and usability is intuitive to those familiar with standard Windows packages. The objective was to get Euclidian used in the majority of local authorities by March 2006, one year after launch.

Today Euclidian is used in 93% of Local Authorities, 3178 people have registered for the course, 4820 hours of learning have taken place and users love it.

"The information is of an excellent standard, the site enables you to look further than the information stated on the Euclidian site with links to the DWP and other official places of resource. I have not found anything that I can fault with the training programme, it is very easy to navigate, very appealing to use and will definitely helpme in gaining knowledge with housing benefits."
New Starter, Thanet District Council

The eLearning awards will be presented on 9 November at the Royal Garden Hotel in London.
