Nelson Croom announces two new partnerships in the Drug and Alcohol support sector
Nelson Croom today announced two new partnerships with organisations that help those with drug and alcohol related problems.
FDAP (The Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals) are working with Nelson Croom to develop an online training programme for managers and practitioners working in the sector. The course is designed to demystify the process of developing and demonstrating competence in the field.
Simon Shepherd of FDAP states "This is a key issue for us, bought to the fore by the NTA/Home Office Joint Workforce Development targets. It?s not rocket science but people in the area are confused and concerned and it is our job to help them."
FDAP will be working in partnership with Nelson Croom to developand market these courses to Drug Action Teams (DATS) across the country. The course will launch in the middle of February.
Addaction is Britain's largest specialist drug and alcohol treatment charity commissioned to deliver a range of substance misuse treatment services. Addaction is working with Nelson Croom to develop elearning modules to support their Core Competency Framework (CCF) programme. The CCF is accredited by the Open College Network and comprises nine competency units and ten line manager reports that enable practitioners to gain recognition as Accredited Drug & Alcohol Professionals from FDAP.
The course is currently delivered face to face at venues across the country and Addaction believe that by offering the alternative online route they will be able to offer an exciting and interesting way to engage with the programme that is more accessible and cost effective for a larger number of practitioners.
"One of our key issues is finding time for people to leave their posts for training, because their role is so critical. By offering an online alternative, we enable people to learn when and where it suits them, that enables continuity of quality services to the clients" says Robert Clasper-Todd, Training Manager for Addaction. The course is due to launch in March this year.
