Habilis and Nelson Croom partner to deliver online training on new health and safety legislation

Nelson Croom has formed a partnership with Habilis, health and safety consultants to the construction industry. Together, Nelson Croom and Habilis are developing a learning and information resource that will help the industry train staff in the new Construction, Design and Management (CDM 2007) regulations which come into force later this year.

The challenge for organisations in the construction industry is to comply with CDM 2007 and to ensure that all employees are aware of their new and changing responsibilities in regard to safety.

"By delivering the training online, we can reach a large audience very quickly. Much quicker than if we had to deliver the training face to face" says Liz Bennett, Managing Director of Habilis.

The programme is built in Nelson Croom's technical shell, Imago, so organisations will have access to a range of tools to help them monitor and manage their employees' progress and understanding of CDM 2007.

CDM 2007 for Highway Designers is the first in a new suite of elearning programmes aimed at improving safety in the construction industry.

"I am pleased to be working with Nelson Croom on this project. With Habilis' knowledge of the area and Nelson Croom's obvious expertise in delivering learning online, this programme is going to make a real difference to the safety of those affected by construction work" Liz concludes.
