Resolving conflict with a new online training programme

Online case studies, role plays and answer sharing will be helping Resolution, the association of family lawyers, train new members in their essential Code of Practice. Working with online learning developers Nelson Croom, Resolution is creating a new online programme to meet increased demand for training.

Resolution has 5000 members, with around 70 new members joining each month. All members are required to undertake compulsory trainingin the Resolution Code of Practice within 12 months of their joining, and this is currently offered as a half day classroom-based course. The Code of Practice promotes an approach to family law that is sensitive, constructive, cost-effective and most likely to reach an agreement. The Code has also been incorporated into the Law Society's Family Law Protocol.

Resolution was founded in 1982 and was formerly known as the Solicitors Family Law Association (SFLA). It campaigns for the improvement of family law and the family justice system and is committed to developing and promoting the highest standards of practice. Resolution supports the development of family lawyers through its national and regional training programme, through publications and good practice guides and through its accreditation scheme. Resolution also trains and accredits mediators and is the only body providing training and support for collaborative lawyers in England and Wales. You can find out more at www.resolution.org.uk

"Our expertise lies in taking existing content and transforming it into online learning that inspires and motivates learners. The online programme will not only reflect the spirit of Resolution and their current face-to-face training but will also give a sense of community to the new members" commented Alan Nelson, Managing Director, Nelson Croom.
