Accounting and Finance Management PAC Professional Development Publishing

Selling a business is a difficult and complex transaction. This new course is an exciting addition to our Portfolio - written by Peter Howson, author of Due Diligence in Mergers and Acquisitions. It will enable those who are involved in selling a business to get to grips with the procedures that need to be followed and the pitfalls that need to be avoided.

The course begins by looking at the decision to sell. It helps learners to review the objectives for selling a business, the different exit routes that are available and whether the timing is right. From there, the course continues to focus on how to prepare a business so that it is ready to be sold, and includes content on grooming a business for sale, forecasting for three years and tax planning. A module on launching the sale follows on from this, with practical and useful advice and tools including a sales process and timetable, tips on choosing and working with advisors, valuation techniques and ways in which to identify potential purchasers. The final module on completing a sale looks at the information memorandum, due diligence, pre-deal negotiations and the sale and purchase agreement.

This is a very practical course, useful for anyone involved in selling a business. It provides learners with up-to-date and detailed information on what is involved, presented in an accessible way that will enable a learner to apply their knowledge so that the sale of a business can go through smoothly and successfully.

Audience: Accounting and finance professionals in practice and in industry.
